Aligner Therapy

Self-align dental treatments, also known as clear aligner therapy, are orthodontic treatments designed to straighten teeth without the use of traditional metal braces. These treatments uses a series of custom-made, clear plastic aligners that gradually move teeth into their desired position.

A dentist assesses the patient’s teeth, bite, and overall oral health to determine if they are a suitable candidate for clear aligners.

Digital scans or physical impressions of the teeth are taken to create a precise 3D images. Using specialized software, a detailed treatment plan is created, showing the gradual movement of the teeth from their current position to the desired alignment.Based on the treatment plan, a series of aligners are custom-made for the patient. Each set of aligners is worn for about one to two weeks before moving on to the next set.

After completing the series of aligners, the teeth should be in their desired position. To prevent teeth from shifting back, patients typically need to wear a retainer, especially at night.

Clear aligners are nearly invisible, making them a popular choice for those concerned about the appearance of traditional braces.

Made from smooth plastic, aligners are generally more comfortable than metal braces, with fewer instances of irritation to the gums and cheeks.
